The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program commonly known as the Philippine version of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) was first implemented in 2008 and was continued after the presidential election in 2010. 

From the more than 300,000 household- beneficiaries, the program now covers around 4.4 million households. In 2013, the program was expanded further to cover children aged 0-18 from the original 0-14. The expansion of age coverage is in response to the study showing that children have better chances of being gainfully employed after finishing their high school based on the new curriculum being implemented by the Department of Education.

With the theme, “Tuloy ang Pagbabago”, the event aims to affirm the positive change of the program on the lives of the poor beneficiaries.

Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries celebrate their bountiful harvest of milkfish from their Bangus Production project
Gigaguit, Surigao del Norte – Hard work does pay off. 

This was demonstrated by the 220 beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program who are members of the Gigaquit Self-Employment  Association (SEA-K) Incorporated as they harvested 2,000 kilograms of milkfish from their Bangus Production project.

Land Bank President/CEO Gilda Pico (L) and DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman (R) led the distribution of the prepaid cards to 203 family beneficiaries of the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT).  
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) together with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) will distribute prepaid cards today to 203 family beneficiaries of the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT). 

“It has always been our commitment to ensure that our beneficiaries receive their grants in the most economic and convenient way. Through the prepaid cards, beneficiaries of the MCCT may get their grants at any Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) or they can use it to purchase groceries or medicines through the point-of-sale (POS) system),” shared DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman.
