Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said that the agency continues  to locate beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program affected by Typhoon Yolanda who have relocated.

“Since December, we have started locating the beneficiaries of the Program. It is important that the beneficiaries inform us of their location so that we can update their information, most especially for those who intend to permanently relocate. We also need to locate them so we could process the cash grant that is due them”, Soliman said

In November, “Yolanda” ravaged the islands of Visayas, greatly affecting the provinces of Samar and Leyte. With the extent of damage, many families flee in the hope of rebuilding their lives outside of the province.

Based on the data of the Department, there are more than 13,000 households that are yet to be accounted for.

“We are already coordinating with the local government units who may be able to help us in locating the beneficiaries of the program.  It is important that we know where they are so that we can continually monitor their compliance with the conditions of the program. We would like to appeal to our beneficiaries who have transferred residences to please coordinate with the Municipal or City Link, Barangay Captain or the Parent Leaders in the community,” Soliman added.

Pantawid Pamilya is a human development program of the national government that invests in the health and education of children aged 0-18. The program ensures that children will be able to finish high school for better employment opportunities.
As of December 31, Pantawid Pamilya covers 3.9 million beneficiaries coming from the 79 provinces in the country.

“We encourage the public to please help us in disseminating this information. The public may also send their queries or concerns through the Grievance Redress text hotline 09189122813,”  Soliman concluded.
