Tejero, Cebu City -- GO, GROW & GLOW…these are the words use to describe a healthy diet in elementary education. They are also used by Fe Ruiz, a nutritionist in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City to teach the basics of nutrition to poor families where malnourishment is prevalent.  She explains the words in vernacular for the people to understand their meaning and be able to apply them in their daily life. Sadly, none of the lessons are practiced because the struggle with growling, hungry stomachs still persists.

Bagong Silang, Caloocan City -- She heard that familiar sound again, followed by a shout of a man which she could aptly describe who he was even if she did not bother to look out. 

“Sa letrang B, onse (on letter B, eleven)”, the man shouted and voice reverberated to her ears as if luring her to go out and play with them. She stopped sweeping and put the broom in its proper place. She went out not to join them but to start washing her laundry.

San Rafael, Ilo-ilo -- Can parenthood be measured by the fact that one has given birth to children?

Not at all.  This was proven by the story of John Roquero, 20 years old, has been taking good care of the family members when his parents separated and Teresita De la Cruz, 61 years old, have been the breadwinner of the family although she remained single. Both of them belong to households that were selected through an objective and transparent criteria of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
