MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom and Micro Ventures Foundation Inc. (MVFI) have joined hands to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for marginalized families who will be ending their five-year stint under the government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program.

DSWD Hosts Inter-agency Regional Directors Consultation to Strengthen Pantawid Pamilya PDF Print E-mail

Regional Directors of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) recently held a three-day Inter-agency Regional Directors Consultation Workshop at Bayview Park Hotel Manila. The conference aims to strengthen the implementation of the Pantawid  Pamilyang Pilipino Program also widely known as the Philippine conditional cash transfer (CCT). 

 

DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo, DSWD Secretary Corazon Soliman, DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro and DOH Secretary Enrique T. Ona respond to concerns and issues raised by Regional Directors.

At the tender age of 11, Norman Bolandrina lost his mother, who died while giving birth to her fifth child.

The boy from Maongon in Masbate soon found himself the head of a family, with an infant and three other younger siblings. Their father abandoned them shortly after their mother’s death.

Norman vowed to keep what was left of his family together, resisting attempts to have anyone put up for adoption. He took on any job that came his way in the hardscrabble villages of Masbate.

DSWD Addresses Findings on CCT Implementation PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reiterates that the findings on the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) or the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program cited by the 2010 Commission on Audit (COA) report, covering the implementation period of 2007-2009), have been addressed and that the Department has institutionalized stringent rules to minimize operational errors. The COA has in fact accepted the steps taken by the Department to resolve the issues.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) invites civil society organizations (CSOs) to submit project proposals for the ADB funded DSWD-CSO pilot engagement in the Family Development Session and FDS Plus under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program also known as the Philippine conditional cash transfer (CCT) program. The invitation is open to all CSOs who are actively involved in community development work in the National Capital Region, Region I, and CARAGA.
