Unregistered children of Pantawid Pamilya family-beneficiaries will now enjoy their rights to a name and nationality after the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)National Statistics Office (NSO) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) signed a Memorandum of Agreement on free birth registration for Pantawid Pamilya grantees.

Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman, NSO Administrator Carmelita N. Ericta and DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo signed the MOA on April 25, 2011 at the DSWD Central Office in Batasan, Quezon City.

“The birth registration program, which will run for the whole  month of May 2011, waives fees for the late registration of birth of Pantawid Pamilya families identified through the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR)  and school aged children,” Secretary Soliman said.

A Birth Certificate is a documentary requirement for validating the age of Pantawid Pamilya children-beneficiaries. ### (DSWD – Social Marketing Service) April 26, 2011
